Story requested the head of the Department of Corrections appear on the show live but was given a statement instead.
Vicki Letele's mother had one plea: "Please John Key and Corrections Minister, let justice meet mercy, please bring my daughter home."
Corrections chief executive Ray Smith has asked the chief health person or doctor at Corrections to review the decision.
It's ultimately the decision of the Parole Board, but Corrections makes recommendations so will review whether Corrections can properly look after the prisoner.
The review will happen soon and should take one week.
