Reports of a person with a firearm in the Auckland suburb of Newmarket have turned out to be a false alarm.
Police set up cordons and sent up the Eagle helicopter near Mountain Rd around 5pm.
Half-an-hour later they discovered the perceived threat was actually a "film crew running around with toy guns", a police spokesperson told Newshub.
People at the Les Mills gym on the corner of Khyber Pass Rd and Mountain Rd had also been told not to leave the building.
It is not known if the film crew were professional or amateur.
