Search and rescue teams are conducting a precautionary search after a wave ski was found floating near Mount Maunganui.
Police say a member of the Mount Maunganui Surf Club spotted the yellow wave ski at around 1pm on Sunday.
Teams are now conducting a precautionary search.
The wave ski was found between Rabbit Island and the beach off Marine Parade. It is yellow with black and yellow strips on the hull and is in a worn condition, police say.
