Police say they have not found any items of concern at Waikanae school after a threatening email said there was an explosive device at the school.
They will investigate the source of the email.
Students and staff were evacuated from Waikanae School, north of Wellington, on Tuesday morning.
An email sent to parents at 10:14am told them to pick up their children and said, "We have received what we think is a hoax email saying there is an explosive device at Waikanae School."
"We are taking this seriously and have relocated the whole school to the Memorial Hall."
"The police have called the bomb squad who will thoroughly check the school."
Police gave the school permission to re-enter the premises from 12:00pm.
