A body has been found washed up on Muriwai Beach on Auckland's west coast.
It's believed to be the body of the 24-year-old Congolese man who went missing on Saturday while swimming further south at Piha Beach.
A member of the public discovered the body on Wednesday afternoon and called police.
Police are currently in the process of recovering the body and no formal identification has taken place yet, they say.
A post-mortem will be carried out on Thursday.
