New Zealand Breakers guard Corey Webster has been remanded without plea for the assault charge he's facing.

Webster appeared in the North Shore District Court this morning after he allegedly assaulted Joungmin Namkung in a Takapuna Bar last week.

Mr Namkung alleged he suffered a bruised rib and split lip during the encounter.

The 28-year-old will be under strict bail conditions, but they won't prevent him from travelling overseas for basketball.

Webster will reappear in the North Shore District Court on the December 20.
