Three small yachts on Wellington Harbour have been capsized after a southerly blast ripped across the capital.
The police launch Lady Elizabeth II was called out to help the sailors in Evans Bay, believed to be part of an organised sailing party, around lunchtime on Monday, a police spokesman says.
"The good news is that everyone is accounted for," he said.

The MetService says the wind was measured gusting up to 74km/h at Wellington Airport when the southerly came through.
