Traffic is at a standstill after a wood truck caught fire on State Highway 1 just north of Auckland.
Emergency services were alerted just before 8am to the intersection with Satellite Station Rd near Warkworth.
It's expected to take most of Wednesday to remove the truck's load and clear the scene, the New Zealand Transport Authority says.
A stop/go system is in place and there are long delays in both directions.
Motorists are advised to consider taking State Highway 16 or expect long delays on State Highway 1.
