Port Hills fire enters Christchurch Adventure Park

A fire that has been raging through Port Hills near Christchurch on Tuesday has now entered the Christchurch Adventure Park.

Park spokesperson Anne Newman has confirmed one of the fires has entered the park.

Their infrastructure hasn't been touched yet but she says the fire is "dangerously close" to the top station of the chairlift.

The blaze caps a smoke-filled day, including tragedy when a helicopter pilot died combating the Port Hills fires.

Two fires separate from the Port Hills blazes in Christchurch are being treated as suspicious.

One in Marine Parade broke out at 6:11pm. Crews were in attendance for an hour and a half and managed to get it under control.

Just after, another fire broke out at 6:30pm at the Anzac Drive and Pages Road intersection.

Givealittle pages are being set up to help families who have already lost their homes to the fires.

The Fire Service is asking the public to report any suspicious activity to 111.
