Alleged Dome Valley assault was 'revenge'

A court has heard how a woman kidnapped, assaulted and cut off the hair of another woman as revenge for sleeping with her ex-partner.

Nicola Jones is on trial with four others for two separate attacks on the victim last April and May.

Maria Rollo says her friend Jones was devastated after the 19-year-old victim slept with her ex-partner and called Child, Youth and Family to take her kids away.

"I think she loathed her, she hated her for what she'd done," she told the court.

"She said that one day she was going to get her back."

That was the promise Ms Rollo says Jones made, before the Crown alleges she, Julie-Ann Torrance and Cameron Hakeke kidnapped, assaulted and stole the victim's car, before dumping her in the Bombay Hills last April.

Ms Rollo says Jones confessed the attack and even showed her photos of the beaten victim to prove it.

"She'd given her a hiding, cut her hair and taken her car," she said.

Ms Rollo says Jones told her the victim had also been Tasered on her genitals.

Jones wept in court as Ms Rollo gave evidence. She's already pleaded guilty to charges of kidnap, assault with a weapon and aggravated robbery - but denies using a Taser.

Another witness, Svend Taukiri, said Hakeke - a former transgender sex worker - had kicked the victim out of his flat for not paying rent.

She recalled how Hakeke also confessed his involvement in the April attack.

"She said she had shaved her head in and Tasered her," she said.

Jones, Torrance and two others are facing further charges over a second attack last May, where the victim was allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and left to die on a roadside in Dome Valley.
