Former All Black Adam Thomson has tackled what he says is Spark's poor customer service, tweeting his frustration at a more than two-hour wait on the phone.

Describing the battle with Spark he told his more than 22,000 followers it was "a war of attrition," a common rugby phrase used to describe how tough a rugby game was.

The 29 test All Black who now plies his trade in Japan, took to Twitter on Monday night saying " Just hit the one hour mark on hold to [Spark] pretty excited about it. Anyone broken that record? #personalbest."

Thomson took things to the next level in another tweet waging whether his call would be answered first before his phone battery died.

To make things worse, his call was cut off at the two-hour mark and when he tried to ring back was left hanging by the then closed call centre.

Spark have responded by saying they had to get to the bottom of Thomson's claims and were hoping to make contact with the former All Black on Tuesday.

Thomson will be hoping he comes out on top in the second half.
