Kiwi on drugs charges in Bali facing jail

Bali prosecutors want a New Zealand woman jailed for three years over drug charges.

Myra Lynne Williams, from Taupo, was found with a small stash of drugs when she arrived in Bali last August.

The 27-year-old says she is desperate to be released so she can be reunited with her son.

In January Williams talked about how she's been trying to pass the time behind bars in the notorious Kerobokan prison.

"I got given a guitar so I'm learning to play the guitar properly."

Before being led to her cell after her arrest in August, she appeared to make a confession, burying her head in her hands as she apologised.

"I'm sorry to the Bali government because I didn't respect their rules."

The prosecution says while she was caught with methamphetamine, it was only a small amount and she isn't a narcotics dealer.

She'll be sentenced later this month.
