New footage of south Auckland street fight emerges

New footage has emerged of a street fight that took place earlier this month in south Auckland.

The fight, which involved about eight young men on March 18, prompted numerous calls to police. Polyfest was taking place at the nearby Manukau Sports Bowl, with the organisers calling it "disgusting behaviour".

Police told Newshub the offenders were "long gone by the time we arrived". No one was arrested on the day.

The new video, uploaded to Facebook on Sunday, reveals the posturing which led up to the fight.

Two men in blue shirts can be seen preparing to brawl with another group, dressed in black and red. One of the men is topless.

The fight spills down a side street onto busy Te Irirangi Dr. The driver of a red car hesitates as the scrum barrels towards them, eventually driving around it to avoid hitting anyone.

Other motorists honk their horns, but no one stops.

As the brawl comes to a quick end, the group not wearing blue appears to celebrate victory.

Polyfest representatives were available for comment. Polyfest said last weekend it would be conducting its own internal investigation into the circumstances of the brawl.

A police spokesperson said no one has contacted them to report the matter and urged anyone with information to come forward.
