A Levin woman was woken up at knifepoint by two men who broke into her home just before 4am on Monday.

She was tied up by the men, who demanded property from her before fleeing in a car, police say.

She was unable to get a close look at the offenders, but police have found the getaway vehicle - a grey Nissan Murano, registration GSU174.

Forensic and scene examinations have taken place on the car and at the house on Trafalgar St.

Police say the woman is understandably shaken, and speaking to Victim Support.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the getaway car in the Levin area on the morning of March 20.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Richard Morse or Acting Detective Sergeant Dave Wilson at Levin Police on 06 366 0500.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
