One motorist had enough of the notorious traffic in Auckland.
A car heading along Mahia Road in South Auckland on Thursday night took matters into their own hands instead of sitting in traffic.
A video posted to Facebook by Berta Leighton shows the car driving on the footpath, flying past traffic.
"I feel like this is one of those situations where you can say 'only in South Auckland," eyewitness Roberta Leevard told Fairfax.
"At first I noticed him coming from behind thinking perhaps he was stuck coming out the drive to get down the next road as it looked that way.
"But then he went up the nextfoot path and that's when I realised more what he was doing."
