A double-decker bus has crashed on Auckland's Northern Busway after the driver was stung by a bee.

It was heading towards town near Constellation Drive when the driver got stung.

He veered into a sign and the bus "came to rest" against the bank, Auckland Transport says.

None of the 15 passengers were injured in the crash, and they were transported to other buses.

There was minor damage to the bus, which ended up tilted against the roadside bushes. It will soon be towed away.

The busway is open but there is congestion on the Northern Motorway due to rubberneckers, NZTA says.
