A body has been found by a fisherman in Manukau Heads, which police believe may be that of a missing fisherman.
A 52-year-old man has been missing since last Wednesday night, after his boat was found adrift in the Manukau Harbour with no one on board.
His eight-year-old daughter was rescued late that night after treading water for several hours.
A search for the man was called off on Monday.
Just after 5pm on Wednesday, a fisherman found a body in Wattle Bay, Manukau Heads, which has yet to be recovered by police.
In a statement, police said they're not completely sure if it is that of the missing 52-year-old, but they have told his family about the development.
A formal identification will take place after the body has been recovered.
