Missing 11-year-old Tematau Wilson has been found safe and well in Paeroa.
The boy was found at a family member's house in Paeroa on Monday morning.
Police had been concerned for his wellbeing after he walked off from Thames in bare feet to see his grandmother on Sunday.
He was only wearing a lightweight long sleeved hoodie, red and black shorts and no shoes, police said.
Tematau lives in Te Aroha but was with family in Thames when he walked away. The 11-year-old was last seen near the BP service station at the southern end of Thames.
Police believed he may have tried to walk towards Kopu after telling his family that he wanted to visit his grandmother in Waharoa.
Officers searched throughout Thames overnight without success.
