New Zealand has been revealed as a hideaway for four of China's "most wanted" fugitives.

China's anti-corruption authority, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), has published foreign addresses for 22 of its top fugitives (LINK), who they believe are living around the world in plain sight.

Of those, four are believed to be living at Auckland addresses and are accused of committing corruption and fraud.

One man is living in Cockle Bay, one man in Half Moon Bay, one woman on Eastern Beach and the last man in One Tree Hill.

The list also includes names, genders, former titles, suspected crimes and date of arrival into the country.

Canada is also a hot spot with five fugitives located there, and another ten are scattered across the United States.

In a statement accompanying the list, the CCDI referred to the alleged fugitives as "a community stain", and said they hoped the list would pressure those on it to come forward.

The CCDI said the information came from tip-offs from members of the public, and encouraged Chinese abroad and foreigners to dob in the fugitives so they had "no place to hide".

A similar list was released in 2015, with Justice Minister Amy Adams saying she had no extradition requests from China at the time.
