A teen's act of kindness has received global praise online.
Te Riina Takamore, 13, approached a young father and his toddler at Gate Pa New World in Tauranga on Wednesday and offered to pay for their groceries.
The teenager then handed the cash over the counter before receiving a hug from the visibly shocked man.
The video is captioned "pay it forward" and was posted to Facebook by Te Riina's mother Vicki Takamore on Wednesday.
It has been viewed more than 380,000 times and the family has received messages from people around the world, including Canada, the US and France.
One Facebook user said the mother had clearly taught her daughter good values, while others said they were inspired to pay it forward too.
