A man has been flown to Southland Hospital after badly slicing his hand with a machete.
The 48-year-old had been scrub cutting at the Track Burn Hut near Tuatapere on Monday morning.
A helicopter was used to transport the man due to the remote nature of the area.
A St John spokesman told Newshub the man suffered from blood loss and is in a moderate condition.
