Select committee to consider medicinal cannabis

  • 05/04/2017

In 2015, Nelson teen Alex Renton became the first person to receive a cannabidiol product following sign-off from the Government.

Alex was granted the use of Elixinol, but Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne stressed at the time this was not a "significant change in policy".

Alex sadly died, but his mother Rose Renton has refused to see his case as an exception, continuing to call for medicinal cannabis law reform.

Ms Renton will on Wednesday present to Parliament's Health Select Committee to make her case.

She spoke to Duncan Garner.
