A trio of men have admitted kidnapping a Thai woman in Auckland who died after falling from the boot of the car she was in.

Masi Vaifali, Luigi Havea, and Raymond Brown all appeared in the Auckland High Court on Friday where they pleaded guilty to kidnapping Jindarat Prutsiriporn, Fairfax Media reports.

Brown was granted bail, while the others were remanded in custody until sentencing.

The 50-year-old victim was bound and gagged before being placed in the car in March last year.

She escaped from the moving care in the Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe, however she later died in hospital from a serious head injury.

A group of other men are set to go on trial over numerous charges including kidnapping and manslaughter.

The trial of Joseph Benjamin Haurua, Seng Lek Live, Becoylee Rogers Paleaaesina, Apichart Korhomklang, Tevita Matangi Fangupo, Sodarith Sao and Panepasa Havea begins on Monday.

Luigi Havea will also still go on trial for manslaughter.
