Firefighters deflate loose clown in Pukekohe

Firefighters in Pukekohe have dealt with a more unusual call out on Wednesday morning, in the shape of an out of control circus clown balloon.

A member of the public stumbled across the eight-metre balloon that had blown over Mill Rd, blocking one lane.

Station officer Darcy Hart says they were stunned to find the joker lying face down on the asphalt.

"Obviously the clown was not going to be revived, so we nicely deflated the clown, made sure there were no holes in it and then put it back on to the correct side of the fence and left the happy clown somewhat deflated," he said.
