A body found inside a submerged car has been identified as missing mother Kim Richmond.
Police found her 2014 silver Ford Ranger ute at the bottom of Lake Arapuni in Waikato on Wednesday, and it was dredged up on Thursday.
The identification of the body was confirmed on Friday evening.
The car was under 6m of water, which hadn't been searched previously, Detective Senior Sergeant Ross Patterson says.
Apart from water damage there were no noticeable signs of damage to the car.
Ms Richmond is believed to have been driving the ute before her disappearance on July 31 last year.
Police are now working to confirm the cause of death, and a police investigation is continuing.
