The body found in Auckland's Waitemata Harbour on Monday has been identified as Mangere man Tevita Kava.
Mr Kava, 29, had been missing for nine days after falling overboard on a cruise ship.
An extensive search was carried out, with the police maritime unit, Eagle helicopter, Search and Rescue, Coastguard and Harbourmaster scouring the water for him.
The search was suspended two days later.
His body was found and recovered from Waitemata Harbour on Monday morning.
