A man who allegedly stole a car at gunpoint from a Nelson car dealers is still on the run.
Police have spent much of Wednesday searching the nearby town of Richmond where it's believed the man drove after stealing the car at about 10am.
A gun was found but a manhunt is still underway.
Cordons in place along several streets in Richmond have since been lifted.
Some schools and businesses went into voluntary lock down against police advice.
No one was hurt at the car dealers, but police couldn't immediately say whether the car had been found.
Police want to hear from anyone who has seen the man, who has a number of tattoos, is tall and aged in his 30s.
