A New Zealander living in Brisbane who allegedly rammed a car across three lanes of traffic has unleashed a foul-mouthed tirade on Australian TV.

Steelworker Rujero McRae, 31, allegedly tried to assault the vehicle's passenger through the window before the ramming on Thursday morning.

Police allege he then jumped onto the car's bonnet, stomped on the windscreen and punched the passenger through the window.

Another Kiwi living in Brisbane who tried to intervene in the melee was allegedly punched in the face by McRae.

Outside the Brisbane police watch-house, McRae unleashed a tirade on a 7 News reporter, blaming motorways for setting him off.

"Why don't youse [sic] fix the f***ing motorways here?" he told 7 News.

"That's why everyone's so mad and there's so much road rage."

He said he punched the men to teach them a lesson.

"I f**king punched them both. They'll learn their lesson, you know ... They got what they deserved.

"You want to be the man and whatever; I'm your huckleberry, bro.

"I'm no psychopath ... I shouldn't swear but f*** it.

"Don't f*** with steelies."

McRae has been charged with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, wilful damage, public nuisance and unlicensed driving.

He will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 27.
