Police are hunting two men who robbed a takeaway store in west Auckland on Saturday night, leaving the owners' children traumatised.
The pair entered the Sunnyvale Takeaways on Sunnyside Rd around 8pm, armed with scissors and a knife.
One held the knife to one of the owners' throats, while the other ripped away the cash register.
CCTV footage shows the whole robbery was over in less than 45 seconds, the suspects fleeing towards Awaroa Rd with police and the public in pursuit.
"The shop owners had young children in the store at the time of the robbery and witnessed the incident," said Det Sgt Kelly Farrant, who wants to hear from anyone who might have seen the robbers.
"This has been extremely distressing for everyone involved and we are committed to finding those responsible."
