Six cars have been caught up in a major crash in Central Otago on Tuesday morning.
One driver had to be cut from their car by emergency services.
Two people were taken to hospital with moderate and serious injuries following the crash just after 7am.
Police say the crash happened on the Roaring Meg section of the Kawerau Gorge.
Motorists have been told to expect delays over the next 30 minutes.
