A seriously injured woman has been found under the Mohaka Bridge on the Napier-Taupo Rd, Hawke's Bay.

On Saturday police said they were seeking sightings of a silver Toyota Corolla hatchback in the area of the Napier-Taupo Rd.

They found the car at the bridge about 11am on Sunday. The woman was found a short time later.

"She has suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Hawke's Bay Hospital by the rescue helicopter. The woman is currently being treated for injuries she suffered from a fall," a police spokeswoman said.
