Police are investigating a hit and run in Greytown on Thursday night at around 11pm.
"A 19-year-old man was crossing the road near the rear entrance of the Greytown Hotel when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop," says Sergeant Tim Crum.
"The victim's two friends immediately went to his aid and he's is currently in the high dependency unit at Masterton Hospital."
Masterton Police would urgently like to speak to the driver of the vehicle or any people who were in the area at the time.
