Former Prime Minister Sir John Key receives his knighthood at a ceremony at Government House in Auckland this week.
The ceremony he's attending on Wednesday morning is one of five in Auckland next week presided over by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy.
Those being recognised include Black Grace founder Neil Ieremia, artist Dr Fiona Pardington, TV producer Dame Julie Christie, adventurer and humanitarian Sir Graham Dingle, singer Annie Crummer and top chef Michael Meredith.
John Roy-Wojciechowski, of Auckland receives a MNZM for services to the Polish community and philanthropy on Wednesday.
Emeritus Professor Dame Peggy Koopman-Boyden receives her DNZM for services to seniors on Thursday and Professor Hamid Ikram, of Christchurch receives an ONZM for services to cardiology and education.
Sir Graeme Dingle of Auckland receives his knighthood on Thursday afternoon in the same ceremony triathlete Cameron Brown receives an ONZM.
Television producer Rachel Lang and musician Annie Crummer both receives MNZMs on Friday.
