Police are searching for a 23-year-old man who escaped from custody at Manukau District Court on Saturday.
Joshua Ian Smith is facing charges of wilful damage and breaching home detention conditions.
He's described as being about 1.93m tall and was wearing a black hooded top, white shoes and navy track pants at the time of his escape.
Police are searching the area for Smith, and say he shouldn't be approached by members of the public.
How he managed to escape is also being investigated, police say.
