A Rotorua uncle and nephew have been missing for a week and police are treating their disappearance as suspicious.

Fifty-one-year-old Raymond Fleet and his 21-year-old nephew James Fleet were reported missing by family members last Tuesday, and were last seen at their family home last Monday.

"Their disappearance is completely out of character for both of them," Rotorua investigations manager Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Van Kempen says.

He says the family is distraught and they have no reason to believe either of them would willingly leave. There have been no reported sightings of the pair.

Raymond Fleet is described as caucasian and has short brown hair and a moustache. He has hazel/green eyes and a tattoo of a bird on his back. He is 175cms tall and of thin to medium build.

James Fleet is caucasian and has wavy dark shoulder length hair, hazel/ grey eyes and has tattoos on his right arm of crossed rifles under a Cody's symbol and a dragon. He is 173cms tall and is of medium build.

Anyone with information can contact Rotorua Police on 07 349 9400 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
