Firefighters are winding back their battle against a fire on a container ship at the Port of Tauranga.
More than 70 firefighters were there at its peak early Sunday morning.
The Kokopo Chief is carrying 650 tonnes of dressed timber.
Northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said the alarm was raised around 1am this morning, with all containers now moved off the ship.
It is unclear what started the fire, but it is understood no one on the ship has been injured.
