Two men have been charged with the murder of Bradley Lomax and will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday.
Mr Lomax's body was found beside the Waimakariri River outside of Christchurch last Monday.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder but enquiries are continuing, with scene guards remaining at two addresses in Rangiora and Oxford in north Canterbury overnight.
"I would like to thank all those people and members of the public who have come forward with information about the murder, and encourage others who have any information to make contact with the police," Detective Inspector Greg Murton said in a statement.
Mr Lomax's funeral was held in Christchurch on Monday.
