Kiwi rapper Scribe has had an arrest warrant issued after failing to appear for his court appearance in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday.

His lawyer told the court he missed his flight from Wellington and wasn't able to get another one in time.

The judge told the court it's the fourth time Scribe has failed to show.

Luafutu is facing five charges, including possession of a weapon, possession of a Class A drug, possession of a pipe and two charges of failing to appear in court.

Just last month the 38-year-old music icon, whose real name is Malo Luafutu, failed to appear in court after he was wanted by police for drugs charges.

Police then issued a warning on Facebook saying the 'Not Many' rapper should not be approached and has "several" warrants for his arrest.

More to come.
