A red ute racing the wrong way down one of Auckland's busiest motorways has caused traffic mayhem.
Police have confirmed a man in his twenties and driving a stolen car was followed by the Eagle Helicopter along SH20a at peak hour on Monday.

Several police cars waiting with spikes managed to bring the vehicle to a stop near Onehunga.
The driver attempted to flee the vehicle and was taken into custody.
