A two-year-old girl is in a stable condition in hospital after being pulled unconscious from an Auckland Council pool.
Emergency services were called to Toia - Otahuhu Pool and Leisure Centre on Saturday morning after a member of the public at the pool raised the alarm.
Lifeguards assessed the girl, called for an ambulance and administered CPR. She was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
"Our thoughts are with the child and her family. We wish her a full recovery. We understand she remains in a stable condition," says Auckland Council's head of active recreation Rob McGee.
"I'd also like to commend the quick actions of the member of the public and lifeguards."
Management are completing a full incident report and review.
