Firefighters have put out a garage fire in Invercargill which threatened adjacent properties.
The fire in a 6m-by-6m garage at a property in the Conon Street area was well-involved when firefighters arrived early on Sunday afternoon, Fire and Emergency NZ said.
A person suffering from smoke inhalation was taken to hospital.
The fire was brought under control quickly and crews remained there for two to three hours.
The garage and its contents, which included LPG containers, were completely destroyed and a car in the driveway was damaged.
Adjacent properties were not damaged.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
