Police appeal for information after sexual assault in Hawke's Bay

Hawke's Bay police are appealing to the public for help in the investigation of a sexual assault in Ahuriri, Bluff Hill.

The incident took place on Monday October 23 at around 4:30pm. A man approached a woman from behind and assaulted her around the Shakespeare Road area.

The victim was not harmed and police are providing support to her after the distressing incident.

The alleged offender has been described as a Caucasian man in his late 20s, of lean build with sandy blonde medium length hair.

He is said to have been wearing a dark coloured hoodie and light coloured shorts.

Police ask anyone with any information about anyone who was in the area on Monday afternoon, has seen a person matching the offenders description, or has any information that may be of interest to call Hawke's Bay Police on 06 831 0700 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
