Police are searching for burglars who pulled off a daring rooftop heist at a Christchurch boutique jeweller.

The thieves stole a unique collection of handmade rings from La Bu jewellers in Woolston.

The stolen Turkish jewellery is worth more than $200,000.

The shop's owner says the theives gained access through a hole in the wall, after lowering themselves down through another hole cut in the roof.

"They chose the nice stock, only rings just one container... out of everything, they chose my unique rings," said store owner Mehmet Bayram.

Police are examining security camera footage to determine how many people were involved in the brazen burglary.
