Fatal crash in Waiharara

A motorist died in a crash in Waiharara, Northland on Saturday morning.

Police say a truck rolled on Far North Road just after 8am and one occupant of the truck was killed.

Another occupant received moderate injuries in the crash and has been transported to hospital in Kaitaia, confirms St John Ambulance. 

The road is down to one lane near the scene. Motorists have been asked follow the directions of traffic control in the area.

New Zealand's current road toll for 2017 is 377, while the holiday toll for the Christmas and New Year period is eight.
