A man is in a serious condition following a major house fire on Auckland's west coast.
Fire crews are tackling the blaze at a two-storey home on Piha Rd, which is well ablaze.
They were called to the scene shortly before 5am on Wednesday.
The man was transported to Middlemore Hospital by Westpac Rescue Helicopter after suffering burns.
