Today is the last chance to opt out of receiving the 2018 Yellow Pages for residents of Auckland and Marlborough.

For those in Gisborne, Wairarapa, Rotorua and Tauranga, the opt-out deadline is fast approaching.

Yellow told Newshub 14,000 households have chosen to opt out of receiving this year's directory.

If you missed the opt-out date for your region this year, you can still opt out for the next edition.

Most of the country receives a combined White and Yellow Pages. Because Yellow is obliged to deliver the White Pages residential directory, it must be opted out of.

In Auckland, it's a bit different - the Yellow and White Pages are two separate books. The Yellow Pages must be opted out of, while there's an opt-in for the White Pages, meaning you won't receive the residential directory unless you request it.

The option to cancel subscriptions has been available since 2015, but only for residential properties.
