A person is dead after escaping their crashed car in Canterbury, only to be hit by another vehicle.
Two occupants survived the initial crash on Leeston Rd in Springston, near Goulds Rd shortly before 11:30pm on Wednesday.
But one of the pair left the car, which had rolled into a ditch, only to be struck by a vehicle travelling down the road.
He died at the scene.
Police are investigating the incident.
