Auckland's Southern Motorway was closed after a collision between a truck and motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon.
The motorway was closed around 4pm headed north between Hingaia Road, Karaka and Takanini, but police did not expect it to remain closed very long.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in the crash and has been taken to Middlemore Hospital for treatment.
The Serious Crash Unit has been contacted.
The motorway has since been reopened.
