NZ's new Olympic medallists deliver unintentional burn of David Seymour

Olympic medallists Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nico Porteous have given politician David Seymour an unintentional burn after he asked them for snow sports advice on Tuesday.

The two 16-year-olds dropped by Three's The Project to take questions from a variety of New Zealanders, but things got awkward when it was Mr Seymour's turn.

The ACT Party leader asked them if he would be able to quit politics in favour of snow sports, but was met with confusion from the Olympians.

When asked by Lisa Owen if they knew who he was, both teens admitted they had no idea.

And when it came to actually delivering their all-important advice, it may not have been what the leader of the ACT Party wanted to hear.

Porteous told Mr Seymour that "old dogs can learn new tricks", prompting laughter from The Project's panel.

"That is the most epic David Seymour burn I've ever seen, [and] I've seen a lot," said host Jesse Mulligan.
