A paraglider has died after hitting rock at Mount Maunganui on Saturday afternoon, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at 3:25pm.
Support is being offered to those who were at the scene.
Police say the Rescue Coordination Centre and the Civil Aviation Authority will be notified.
